A new European Policy was announced in Brussels that companies with balance sheets greater than €1 billion will be required to hire 2 auditors to perform a joint audit of their books.

Rugby World Cup kicks off with New Zealand victory

The Rugby World Cup 2011 kicked off today with a victory for hosts New Zealand who beat Tonga 41-10. New Zealand and Australia are strong to win the tournament. Other usual contenders are South Africa and England, however I have drawn Canada in the sweepstake [Ed- !!].

Treasury to clamp down on stamp duty avoidance

The Treasury is looking to clamp down on stamp duty avoidance schemes employed by the very rich. The current proposals will prevent individuals from avoiding stamp duty by owning their property through a company. The treasury is also seeking to tax foreigners on the sale of property in Britain. Foreigners will be charged capital gains tax on the sale of property other than their primary home.
