Treasury to clamp down on stamp duty avoidance

The Treasury is looking to clamp down on stamp duty avoidance schemes employed by the very rich. The current proposals will prevent individuals from avoiding stamp duty by owning their property through a company. The treasury is also seeking to tax foreigners on the sale of property in Britain. Foreigners will be charged capital gains tax on the sale of property other than their primary home.
