National Insurance and Dividend taxes to increase by 1.25% in 2022

UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak announces that National Insurance and dividend taxes will increase 1.25% from 6 April 2022, referred to as a Health and Social Care levy.

Basic rate taxpayers currently pay 7.5% on any dividends they receive. From 6 April 2022, this will rise to 8.75%. For higher-rate and additional-rate taxpayers, the rate will rise to 33.75% and 39.35% respectively.
